Preparing data for Tableau

In the course we experienced the joys of well prepared data and how it makes using Tableau super easy. The U.S. FedScope Employment Cubes was one example of well organised data.

We also experienced the extra effort needed to visualise open data when it’s not well structured.

@dave what steps would you recommend open data publishers take to make their data easy to analyse in Tableau and other data visualisation tools?

Some help straight from tableau. Once again, CSV’s are king. The flatter the better.
